Common (meta) modeling languages do not allow the definition of specific association types. This restriction is sometimes a serious disadvantage for the design of DSML
Daniel Töpel presented the paper “Association Types: Motivation, Specification and Implementation with the XModelerML” at the MULTI workshop in Linz. It describes an extension of FMMLx, a multi-level language developed at the chair that integrates programming and modeling language. It allows language developers to specify and use domain-specific association types while modeling. The MULTI workshop is the leading international scientific event series on multi-level language architectures and tools. It takes place as part of the MODELS conference.
