XModelerML version 3 has been released. With version 3, it is now possible to switch between two-level and multi-level modeling modes. Diagram types can be changed by right-clicking on a diagram in the Control Center and selecting “Make UML++/FMMLx Diagram.” The UML++ diagram editor now offers a new “UML Meta Mode.” In UML Meta Mode, a UML++ diagram is supplemented with all meta information (meta class name, slots and operation values of classes) that are traditonally faded out. The UML Meta Mode is implemented as a view on UML++ diagrams. Users can toggle UML Meta by three means: (1) In the Control Center under “File > Preferences… > UML++ Preferences > Hide/Show UML Meta Information”, (2) in the diagram editor under “View > Toggle UML Meta Information”, and (3) in the diagram editor by right-clicking on the canvas and selecting “Toggle UML Meta Information.”
With this latest release, we wish to provide a more seamless integration of two-level and multi-level modeling modes. XModelerML version 3 will be presented as part of the “Tools and Demonstration” Track at this year’s MoDELS conference. More information are available at the corresponding MoDELS web page.
