St. Goar (Map) is situated in the heart of the Middle Rhine region, the most picturesque part of the Rhine valley between Rüdesheim and Koblenz. Both banks are lined with fairy-tale castles and steep vineyards. The venue of our workshop, Burg Rheinfels, towers over St. Goar. It is the mightiest fortress that was ever constructed on the banks of the Rhine. The original castle was built in 1245 by Graf Dieter V von Katzenelnbogen, and its well-preserved ruins are still an impressive sight, offering spectacular views of the valley.

St. Goar is located between Frankfurt and Cologne with excellent connections by flight, train and car, e.g. to Frankfurt Airport (approx. 90 minutes by car and by train), to Frankfurt Hahn Airport (approx. 60 minutes by car), and to Cologne (approx. 2 hrs by car and by train).

The workshop will take place in the Castle Rheinfels Hotel set on a hilltop above the town of St. Goar. Recently given the title of the Best Event Hotel 2005, the 4 star hotel has been ranking among the best conference hotels in Germany for ten years.

Hotel bookings will be available directly through the conference hotel. Further links will be provided when registration starts in August 2007. Further hotel rooms have been blocked for the exclusive use of EMISA 2007 delegates (see registration).
